Yes, we all crave to sit at the number 1 spot on Google’s SERP. But based on my experience and observation, it no longer matters if you are providing genuine info to help visitors.
Out of the billions of web pages online, you will truly be miraculously blessed if you are on rank 1 for all the keywords that your business is targeting. It is simply just impossible to do.
But the good thing is, you can still receive organic traffic even if you are not in position #1. If your content is deemed related to the searcher’s query and intent, then Google will serve it.
Here’s a proof using one of my website’s metrics in Google Search Console:
The average position of this page is 10.3, not number 1. But you can see that it received 63 clicks. If you are a real business, there is a high probability that one of those clicks will translate to sales, which is more important than being in the top spot.
The content that I wrote for that page helps the user. It satisfies his/her intent. That’s what Google is looking for. It will not rank at the top but it will be served to a searcher if the intent matches the content of my article.
You see, Google serves pages to searchers based on different factors. It also considers the user’s search history, location and other metrics.
Don’t believe me?
Here’s an example: Do you think your website that sells dog foods in Tokyo will be in position number 1 if the searcher types “cheap dog food in Denver”. You cannot. Simply impossible. Now do you understand my point?
Now that you are enlightened, stop obsessing on the number one spot. After all, SEO experts can never guarantee that, and if they are telling you otherwise, think twice.
Just let AI do the writing
Sure, it is faster and usually free. But didn’t you know that Google emphasizes “originality”?
AI creates content based on existing materials. With that in mind, all of its content will simply be generic and very similar to millions of others. It simply cannot copy the same nuances human written content has.
Google Search Central has this question for all of us:
“Does the content provide original information, reporting, research, or analysis?”
That is one basis for it to consider a content to be helpful.
What can you do for my business?
I am offering your company my content writing service based on the same principle, satisfying and relating to the user’s intent. This is the only way now to let organic traffic come into your website and make your business profitable.
Google always emphasizes “helpful content”. And that’s what we are going to do. Let me know if you need my help.
