It is depressing to see your website traffic fall. It equates to earnings and money. The less traffic you have, the lower your earnings. But the recent instruction of Google, is to make helpful content, for humans. But how?
How to Make Helpful Content
To be helpful, you should first establish that you are not a robot or a computer that will produce canned and scripted responses. We humans tend to trust through our emotions where we can relate with each other.
Princeton University published a post about biased emotions, which I guess could be the factor why we want to relate with another human to solve problems.
One thing that’s working for my site now is being genuine. If you are writing articles that truly appeals to the emotions of a reader, then you are writing a genuine content.
But this is only one way to ensure that you are a real person writing. The more important part is whether you are helping the reader. You can cry and laugh in your article just to be a genuine human.
But are you helping the visitor?
What I suggest is that you also address the problem of your reader. The search engine recommended your site to the reader because it thinks you can solve his problem.
So always put that in mind, be an authentic person and solve the other’s problem. So you see, authenticity and helpfulness go hand in hand.
Why does it seem that Google wanted to reduce AI generated content? Because you can obviously tell there is no emotion attached to the way AI writers.
True, they may be helpful in giving you facts, based on what it scanned from other databases. But you can easily feel that the articles are too rigid, too encyclopedia-like.
What To Do Now?
As I’ve said, write articles based on your emotion. Think of you visitor as a friend who asks for advice. Incorporate your feelings to your article and for sure it will be recognized as helpful to real humans.
